Utilities

  • Adobe Acrobat Reader: Download Acrobat Reader, which you'll need in order to view PDF files. PDF files are commonly found on sites with online manuals or forms.

  • WinZip: Most of the files that you download on the web are in the compressed ZIP format. Winzip is a program that allows you to "unzip" these files, as well as create ZIPs yourself.

  • WinRar: Another compessed format that's making a come back is RAR. WinRar is a great program that handles this as well as ZIP files.

  • Norton AntiVirus: A virus scanner is a must for every computer. Symantec's Norton AntiVirus is one of the top scanners.

  • McAfee Antivirus: Another popular antivirus software that you can find installed by default on new systems.

  • AVG Antivirus: A very good free scanner that many of our customers use. It uses less system resources than the above two. They also offer a commercial version with more features.

  • Spybot Search & Destroy: Excellent software that cleans and protects.

  • Ad-Aware Personal SE: Another great spyware removal tool equal to Spybot.

  • SpywareBlaster: Protect your system by blocking known spyware sites.

  • Microsoft AntiSpyware: Live protection similar to how Norton AntiVirus auto-protect works.

  • HiJackThis: An advanced tool for repairing hi-jacked web browsers.

  • WinSock XP Fix: Repair your Windows XP TCP IP stack if it's damaged by spyware.
