REPORT:
The wind up here is just terrible so I was looking for some better weather and headed down south to Haulover Canal. When I got there there was a whole family of Manatees swimming in the cove. I'm a bit upset about the quality of the picture. I bought a waterproof camera case which you're supposed to be able to take photos with through the case, as you can see from the quality fo the photo... it does not work very well. Oh well, at least it is tough and will keep the camera safe.. I can take it out to take photos easily enough. Got underway about 4:30 after admiring the manatees. Tried some fishing by the back of the bridge while a parade of large boats came through the canal. Was using live shrimp and I had zero luck at the bridge. Then I headed up towoards my lucky spot here, on the way I took this photo of a pretty white bird. I really should get some sort of book to identify these birds :) I caught many fish by the cut in the canal to mosquito lagoon. Started it off with this small Black Drum and then I got a Small Keeper Mangrove Snapper. After the snapper I got this Crevalle Jack which was probably a keeper but I don't like eating them so I let it go. Caught a couple more Small Mangrove Snappers before I tried getting out the end of the canal.. The wind was blowing too hard and the waves were much too high for the kayak so I was not able to get out there. I paddled back to the bridge and fished the lights till 9pm with no luck. Let a lot of shrimp go tonight the weather must have the fish bummed out as well as this fisherman. If you would like to see all of the photos that I took today, then please visit my web page at
