Boca Grande Fishing Report
11-17 00
This is a special request to friends of Florida Flyfishing. I have lost a group of email addresses of people who regularly receive info from me. Please send a note to captpete@floridaflyfishing.com and I will get you back on my list.
Thanks, Pete
Winter is here and the weather is great. I often mention the weather in my reports because it is the reason our fishing is so good. Yesterday the morning temperature was 50 degrees at 5:00 am. It was 70 degrees at 11:00 am. I believe we have the best weather in the country in November and December.
They fish love it too. They get up around 9:00 am. They're usually hungry and like to play. That is the way it has been all week.
Jim Leiner, of Nyack, N.Y. and I fished Tuesday and caught 21 Redfish, four Snook, a Flounder, a few Sheepshead and lots of Seatrout. All this before 3:00 pm.
Sam Albano and his Son Mike took several reds and snook on Sunday fishing mostly artificial and live shrimp.
Charlie Johnson and George Lurz found a dozen or more Redfish to 5 lbs., a few Snook to 25 inches and several Sheepshead on the flats of Bull Bay on Wednesday.
All in all, fishing has been good and I predict it to stay that way until a major front moves down from the north. It would be nice if they kept the cold weather up there where it is appreciated.
Tight Lines, Capt. Pete
