REPORT:
Dec. 22, 2000
Sum up the fishing of the new millennium? My assessment is a good year under difficult weather conditions. But, like the ground hog who does not see it's shadow, I think we'll have an early break in the season and the prognosis is more fish and better conditions.
For the next week or two we'll see redfish, seatrout and sheepshead increase as the water calms down. Expect to see air temperatures in the low 80's for a few days in January. This will make fishing pleasant and keep the water temperature above 65 degrees.
Richard Laperriere, son Danny and daughter Emily, took some flyfishing lessons on the water on Wednesday. All did well with the fly and Danny took a couple of nice sheepshead on shrimp while we practised. Don't forget our flyfishing school scheduled for Jan 15.
Jill and I wish all our friends a wonderful holiday season and a prosperous new year. We look forward to seeing you all this season.
Tight Lines,
Capt. Pete & Jill
