Boca Grande Report 5/18/01
Tarpon are here, happy, and eating. The fish have been steadily increasing in number for the last two weeks and we are catching them. Some fish are on the beaches in schools moving north and some are in the passes waiting to spawn. The most catchable fish are in the back country, especially around the old ICW in Pine Island Sound.
Our new tower boat, still unnamed, is making fishing more comfortable and secure. Everyone enjoys the larger size and extra room for fishing. We'll be adding a few new features as time and tide allow.
Snook and Redfish are still strong in the back country. The reds seem to be more scattered than the snook, but still fishable. Watch for a big increase of snook on the beaches and in the passes since the water temperature reached 78 degrees.
Lots going on now in Charlotte Harbor. Give Jill a call if you want to join the fun. 1-941-923-6095. See a nice snook on our home page.
Tight Lines, Capt. Pete
