REPORT:
Peter Von Mehren and I fished on Saturday, 9/26/98 from 7:16 AM until 6:20 PM, on the Herring, Chesapeake and Eastern Bays. The tide was incoming when we started.

All fish were caught on light spinning and bait casting equipment using artificial lures.

LURES USED: soft plastic baits rigged on 3/8 and 1/2 ounce round head jigs, floating soft plastic baits rigged on a straight shank worm hook, lipless vibrating crankbaits, top water poppers, suspended jerkbaits and jigging spoons.

TOTAL STRIPED BASS CAUGHT WAS 26. The Stripers ranged in length from 12" to 17". The most productive structure was a point. Landed 0 Stripers 18" or larger.

STRUCTURES FISHED: Points, underwater mounds, light houses, and ledges.

BIGGEST STRIPERS CAUGHT ON: Bass Assassin, Shad Assassin, Soft Plastic Bait, 5", Albino/Fire Tail, #SWA29240

MOST PRODUCTIVE TECHNIQUE: Jig & Stop-cast the lure out, let it drop to the desired depth (drops 1 foot per second), then lift your rod tip swiftly from 9 o’clock to 11 o’clock while taking up the slack line-pause for 1 second.
