REPORT:
Well my charter boat needs some repairs so I decided to migrate and
locate fish. The news was so hot down at Breezy Point I decided to give
it a try. The action was not nearly as hot as last weekend but still
pretty good. Trolled the Gooses from 6am -11 am with no hits. Then on
a west bound track across the 80' deep channel, we had a triple header.
(3) keepers included these 35" and 37"er's released the 34" third as it
was only Joe and I onboard. Baits hit were a 6oz white bucktail w/ 9"
white/black back shad. 140' back. A green 8oz parachute, 9" green chart
shad set 175' back. A green 2 oz head green 6" shad tandem rigged with
a 12oz green parachute 100' back. The action continued for about half
hour then stopped again. Total caught (5) legal and (1) sub-legal.
Plenty of bait marked at all depths but most seemed about 40'-60' deep.
Many marks looked like trout or croaker but had no bait to find out.
Wish the drive was not so far.......
