Oregon Fishing Report for April 14 - 21, 2000

Columbia River sturgeon fishing remains steady in the gorge, especially for shakers! Some oversize fish are beginning to show.  Willamette River conditions are ideal but that could change when the rainfall hits the valley possible rising and coloring the river.  Catches have been great and the quota will not last much longer.  The Clackamas continues to boot out the quality steelhead, springer are soon on their heels.  The Sandy is seeing regular action for springers but nothing red hot.  Drano Lake and the Wind River should pick up nicely over the weekend.  The counts have been skyrocketing over Bonneville Dam.  The north coast is slowing somewhat but the current precipitation should bring the rivers up enough for the last push of steelhead to make their show on the Wilson and Trask.  The seasons first springer is due any day.  Sturgeon fishing may be good on Tillamook Bay over the weekend.  Warmwater fisheries have been excellent in Eastern Oregon.  READ ON!
