Forecasting for the fishing week of March 24 – March 30, 2000

Fisheries update – Stay tuned on the Columbia River salmon issue. It looks like another one we will have to fight for. We will keep you posted but in the meantime, THE COLUMBIA IS CLOSED TO SALMON FISHING! The Willamette will likely slip into a slight lull for a few weeks although there will still be decent numbers of salmon caught throughout the river system, especially the Oregon City area. The Clackamas is still looking good for steelhead and don’t rule out the salmon water for that bonus springer. The Sandy is nothing special but the crowds are thin too. The north coast has scattered steelhead mostly in the upper reaches of the rivers but there are many fish over 10 pounds and there should be another shot of steelhead in the first week of April.
